Kadha is a traditional and ayurvedic tea that contains various medicinal herbs, leaves, and spices. It is an ancient Indian variety of tea that is believed and scientifically proved to have many health benefits.


Ingredients:

  • Ginger.
  • Pepper Powder.
  • Turmeric powder.
  • Water.
  • Jaggery.
  • Clove.
  • Tulsi (Holy Basil) leaves.
  • Giloy (Amruth balli) leaves.


Procedure To Make Kada:

  • Take a bowl, add two cups of water to it.
  • Then crush two inches of ginger and add to it or cut two inches of ginger into small pieces. The more ginger is crushed, the more its flavor will be added.
  • Now, add a half teaspoon of pepper powder and one-fourth teaspoon of turmeric powder to the bowl.
  • Add 4-5 pieces of clove spice.
  • Add 5-6 tulsi (holy basil) leaves and 4-5 giloy leaves to it.
  • Add two teaspoons of jaggery to it.
  • Add all the ingredients, mix it well, and allow it to boil.
  • Boil the content until the water level decrease from a hundred percent to seventy percent.
  • Now Kadha is ready and serves two people.
  • Use a tea strainer while pouring into a cup.


Note: The above procedure of making Kadha serves only two people.

Harmful Effects Of Kadha When consumed Excessively:

Excessively consumption of anything is, in turn, harmful to your body.

Risk of developing side effects of kadha increases when you consume it more and when you consume it at an inappropriate time.

  • It may cause liver damage.
  • It may increase constipation.
  • It may lead to tooth erosion.
  • Yellowing of eyes.
  • It may cause a bleeding nose.
  • If drunk excessively it may lead to infertility in males and females.
  • Heavy bleeding in females during the menstrual cycle.
  • It leads to an increase in body heat.
  • It may increase the development of pimples and acne due to increased body heat.
  • Excessive intake also leads to acidity.
  • It is not recommended for pregnant women, due to tulsi in it. Excessive tulsi leaves is not good for pregnancy.
  • It leads to urination problems, as urine gets more concentrated.
  • It leads to oral ulcers.

Note:
  • Drink kadha 1-2 times a day.
  • Do not drink kadha with an empty stomach.
  • Drink it in the evening or at the night.
  • Do not use excess spices, herbs, and leaves.
  • Not recommended to a pregnant woman.
  • Kadha is not recommended to children below 4-5 years.
